Terms of use
The rules for playing online. They’re short, and they’re there to keep the game friendly.
Accounts
- Online play is for adults: you must be 18 or over to create an account. Accounts found to belong to someone under 18 are closed.
- One account per person. Keep your password to yourself.
Chat and comments
- You can only chat with, and comment on the clubs of, your friends: players in the same friends’ league, which you join with a code a friend gives you.
- Only join a league with people you know. You can block a player from a chat, and leave a league at any time.
Be a good club-mate
- No abuse, bullying, threats, hate, or sexual content, in chat, comments, club names or anywhere else.
- Nothing illegal: no content that sexualises children or tries to contact children for sexual reasons, no terrorist content, no threats, fraud, scams, or selling drugs or weapons.
- Don’t share anyone’s personal details, including your own address or phone number, and don’t pretend to be someone else.
- No spam or adverts. If something breaks these rules, report it.
How reports are dealt with
- Use Report on a message, a comment or a club. Reports are checked within 48 hours by the person who runs the game.
- Anything illegal or against these rules is removed. Accounts that share illegal content, or keep breaking the rules, are closed. Serious cases, such as anything that puts a child at risk, are reported to the police or the National Crime Agency.
- The game doesn’t use automated tools to scan what you write, apart from a filter that stars out swear words.
- Complaints: email the address below if a report wasn’t dealt with, if you think something of yours was removed or your account closed by mistake, or about anything else in these terms. Complaints get a reply within 14 days.
The game
- The game is free, and nothing in it costs real money. It’s provided as it is: it may change, have faults, or one day close. If it closes, players will be told first where possible.
- A work of fiction. Every club, league, ground, firm and person in the game is made up, and so are their names: any likeness to a real one is chance. The game has no connection with the England and Wales Cricket Board, the MCC, or any real league, club, ground or company.
- The game is run by Village Cricket Club Simulator, the trading name of a sole trader based in England. These terms follow the law of England and Wales. Questions and complaints: [email protected]. Last updated: 30 October 2026.
